On September 15, 1993 we opened the doors to the sales room in the Barn and began selling apples. This morning I’ve been thinking about next weekend and what a milestone it truly is. The excitement we felt as we prepared for “opening.” The determination to “make this happen.” But never imagining that our purpose, to grow high quality fruit and to be a place for families, would turn into what we have today. All the people over the years who we greet as friends each fall. We did our part, but we wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for you!
We are so grateful for everyone who has been a part of our story. You are invited to join us to celebrate this milestone with family, friends and neighbors. Below are details of special activities going on next Saturday. We hope you can join us!
All Day: Hayrides specially priced at $1 per person. PYO apples on Cortland and SweeTango™, while supplies last. Coupons for the first 100 people on Saturday. Apples available in the store include Zestar! SweeTango™, Chestnut Crab, Wealthy, Pears, and of course, those yummy caramel apples!
Kids Craft. 10 am to 1 pm. Join the Karl Oscar Ambassadors for a fun fall craft! Appropriate for pre-school to early elementary.
Vendor Fair. 10 am to 4 pm. We have an expanded line up of vendors this year! They include Wood Pallet Treasurers, Norwex, Usborne Books, Tastefully Simple, Ever Skin Care, DoTerra Oils, Loving Needles Club, Photo Mini-Sessions with Rebecca Studios, E2’s Emu Ranch, Carlson Lake Farm and Mary’s Twisted Tye-Dye. Lots of lovely products.
Brat Stand. 11 am to 2 pm. Back by popular demand we will be grilling our popular Apple Brats, made locally at Deutchsland Meats in Lindstrom.
Evening Celebration. 5 pm to 8 pm. We’re excited about our first ever evening event! (The start of something new?). Food, music, laugher and friends. Details below:
- Chicken/Ribs available for purchase from our friends at Deutschland Meats.
- Music provided by Thea Ennen & Dave JaVue
- We’ll have Pleasant Valley Orchard apple crisp and orchard blend coffee for dessert.
- Soft drinks available for purchase or you’re welcome to bring your own drinks.
- Limited seating, so you’re welcome to bring your own blankets, and lawn chairs.
- There will be a short program at 6:30.
- The store will remain open until 7:30 pm.
