March News – Upcoming Events

By March 2, 2026Weekly Feature

Turning the calendar to March never felt so good. I don’t know why the shortest month of the year feels like the longest. How about you? The days are longer. With the warmer weather it’s beginning to smell like spring. All signs of hope.

The winter work of pruning continues until every tree in the orchard gets trimmed. Our dedication to pruning is one of our secret sauces to having productive trees and high-quality fruit. Pruning opens up the trees to sunlight, gets rid of unproductive branches and in the growing season the tree puts its energy into the fruit.

We’re also gearing up this month with our planning for the upcoming seasons. Looking ahead here are some key dates to put on your calendar.

April 25th: Earth Day Road Clean-Up. 9 to 12. We need 12-16 volunteers to clean up the road ditches near the orchard. We provide everything you need to participate, including coffee and treats and lunch at the end. It’s always a fun time!

May 9th:  Books & Blooms at the Cidery. Time TBD. We’re partnering with Twin Flower books to bring you the second annual grown-up book fair, paired with the orchard in bloom and Pleasant Valley hard cider.

August 29 & 30th. Soft opening for our fall orchard season! Labor Day is L A T E this year and so we’re going to try something new. Open a bit early. More details to come.

September 19 & 20th. Anniversary Fair Weekend. One of our most popular events, with 20 vendors each day, plus bonus food trucks, music and more. Don’t miss out this fall!

October 16th. Spooky Story Time. Partnering with Twin Flower Books, we’re happy to host this fun, kids’ event on Friday of MEA weekend. Join us for story time, kids’ activity, hayrides and donuts. Author and times TBD.

October 17th. Harvest Pop-Up. We fill our barn space once more with local businesses and vendors. Get a jump on holiday shopping or find the perfect fall or thanksgiving accessory for your home. Time TBD.

Next up for us will be to line up Music At The Orchard and our bonus food trucks. Is it too early to get excited about our fall season?
