Abundant Apples

October means the best of the harvest is on its way!
While we do have the new favorites, Honeycrisp and SweeTango™, you can find some of the best fall classic apples at Pleasant Valley Orchard. These classics were also developed by the University of Minnesota and provide rich flavors to enjoy and awesome apples for baking and making applesauce. These include:
Sweet16- Developed by the UMN in 1977, this amazing apple tastes like cherry candy. Awesome eating and interesting applesauce. Available now.
Haralson – This used to be THE Minnesota Apple. Crisp, tart, great eating and the best pie apple ever. Will be available in the store this Saturday, October 3.
Cortland – This apple is beautiful both inside and out. With its white flesh and deep purple finish it serves up well in salads and with apples and caramel. Great for eating and for baking. Available now.
Other apples yet to come include: SnowSweet™, Honeygold, Fireside and Keepsake.
Don’t forget weekend activities include pick-your-own apples (Haralson, Cortland and Honeycrisp; while supplies last), hayrides, hayrides to the pumpkin patch, music and more!
